Parasailing + Kayak

La Paz
  • Dare level: Easy
  • 8-10 hrs
  • Price: $55
  • XP points: 5
  • Available dates:

Start at sunrise on Lake Ilopango, El Salvador’s largest lake and one shaped by volcanic activity, then experience the landscape again from the sky. One minute you’re quietly paddling across the water; later, your feet are very much not touching it. Your regular Saturday has officially been outperformed.

WHY THIS DARE EXISTS?

That peaceful lake has a very unpeaceful backstory.

The calm water you’re kayaking across fills the Ilopango volcanic caldera, formed by explosive eruptions powerful enough to reshape huge parts of the surrounding landscape. Today the same lake is used for kayaking, diving, swimming and water sports like nothing dramatic ever happened. The comeback is honestly impressive.
