Cerro Eramón Sunrise

Chalatenango, El Salvador
  • Dare level: Moderate
  • 5 - 6 hours
  • Price: $31.99
  • Available dates:
    03.01.2024

From Cerro Eramón, a clear morning can reveal two major rivers, two reservoirs and multiple Salvadoran volcanoes from one summit. You climb before sunrise and watch the country slowly appear around you as daylight reaches Chalatenango. El Salvador really chose 6:00 a.m. to show off.

WHY THIS DARE EXISTS?

This isn’t a viewpoint. It’s a map with altitude.

From Eramón, the Lempa and Sumpul rivers, hydroelectric reservoirs and volcanoes from different regions of El Salvador can all appear in the same panorama. These are places most Salvadorans know as separate names on a map—until one mountain puts them all in front of you. Turns out geography hits harder when you had to hike for it.
